In Korea, the construction industry is responsible for 40% of energy consumption and therefore it requires a change in architecture mindset towards energy cutback, net-zero energy, and plus-energy via renewal. <br /><br /> It is argued that passive design is more important than active design for green architecture as it diminishes energy consumption by considering local weather conditions and using energy-saving construction resources. Revision of passive design during initial planning phases is also essential for active design effectiveness. <br /><br /> Kunwon’s close collaboration with engineers from the start of planning is driven by the desire to achieve sustainable architecture in harmony with nature and capable of energy regeneration rather than to improve its status. Furthermore, by affording owners comprehension of sustainable architecture and addressing preliminary investment costs and return cycle, Kunwon can devise the best plans for each setting.
